Vian Dakhil accused the Ministry of Migration of arbitrariness
The official representative of the bloc of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the Iraqi parliament Vian Dakhil in a statement accused the Ministry of Migration and Displaced Persons of reducing benefits to Yazidi refugees and displaced persons, calling the measure arbitrary.
In a statement issued by the press office of Mrs. Dahil's representative said that "after the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Federal Government of Iraq has fulfilled all requirements for the payment of monthly financial social protection benefits for thousands of displaced Iraqis living in camps for displaced persons, we were surprised by the very strange decision of the Minister of Migration and Displaced Persons to stop the payment of benefits."
Representative Vian Dakhil confirmed that she is in favor of returning all displaced people to their areas of residence and new homes, not returning them to life in the open air.
The action of officials in Iraq is unacceptable extortion aimed at achieving a false success at the expense of the livelihoods of thousands of displaced people who cannot return to their areas, most of whom are deprived of simple living conditions such as security, services, employment opportunities and others.
Vian Dakhil also called on the prime minister to find out the real reasons behind these unjust decisions against the displaced, demanding immediate action to stop this arbitrary decision and ensure that all displaced people who deserve it, including those Yazidi families who cannot return to their neighborhoods, receive a monthly financial allowance because it is unacceptable that displaced people are exploited and threatened to achieve political ends. "On the contrary, we must all work in haste to provide the necessary support and assistance to all displaced persons so that they can rebuild their lives and their futures in a dignified and sustainable manner," the statement said.
Also, Vian Dakhil’s statement calling for a halt to the arbitrariness of the Ministry of Migration was sent to the following organizations: Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, the United Nations Mission in Iraq (UNAMI), the Human Rights Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, the High Commission for Human Rights - Iraq.
