A Yazidi group of activists from civil society organizations have issued a statement calling on the United Nations to intervene to stop the attacks of terrorist gangs on cities in northeastern Syria.

The statement was made in front of the UN building in the city of Qamishlo in three languages, Yazidi, Arabic and English, in the presence of representatives of 18 civil organizations. The statement says that interested international institutions remain silent about the military actions launched by terrorist gangs and local criminal groups loyal to them in the region.

The activists also stressed the fact that the activation of terrorist groups has begun, war crimes have been committed, 19 civilians have been killed during the year, including women, children, medical workers and journalists.

The statement is addressed to about 300 organizations and institutions of civil society, as well as political, legal and intellectual figures from 29 countries of the world. The statement calls on the United Nations to fulfill its humanitarian and human rights responsibility in order to stop the repeated attacks of terrorist gangs on the northeast of Syria and protect the lives of civilians.
