The Gallup Foundation for Feelings 2022 report showed an increase in the global level of "unhappy countries". Monitoring and interviewing of certain groups of residents was conducted after the concepts of unhappiness were recorded in the measurements of public opinion, which includes feelings of stress, sadness, anger, anxiety and physical pain that people experience on a daily basis.

Representatives of national minorities such as the Yazidis, who survived the genocide in 2014, are considered the most unhappy in Iraq. The criminal acts of ISIS terrorists have a very negative impact on the psyche and physical health of the representatives of the Yazidi minority.

The report, based on surveys of about 127,000 people in 122 countries, showed that most of the respondents said that they had experienced severe anxiety (42%) or stress (41%) and about a third said they had experienced physical pain (31%) and hopelessness.

While more than a quarter of respondents experience a feeling of sadness (28%) and about a quarter feel anger (23%), according to the international organization, which has kept such statistics every year since 2006.

The rating of the ten countries most susceptible to negative feelings was as follows: Afghanistan, Lebanon, Iraq, Sierra Leone, Jordan, Turkey, Bangladesh, Ecuador, Guinea, Benin.

At the same time, the ten countries least vulnerable to negative experiences are: Latvia, Kyrgyzstan, Estonia, Russia and South Africa, then Lithuania, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Mauritius, Kosovo, Taiwan and Kazakhstan.

According to Al Jazeera Net, the consequences of negative feelings are not limited to one person, but can lead to taking to the streets and inciting unrest in countries.

According to the Global Peace Index, the number of riots, strikes, and anti-government protests increased by 244% from 2011 to 2019. Unrest doubled in 2020, reaching about 15,000 demonstrations worldwide.

According to the report, there are many factors that make people unhappy, but five of them contributed significantly to high levels of global unhappiness: poverty, hunger, negative society, loneliness, and lack of work.
