The U.S. Government's 2022 Religious Freedom Report on Armenia notes that the total population as of mid-2022 is 3 million. According to the 2011 census, about 92 per cent of the population identify themselves as members of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Other religious groups include Armenian Uniate Catholics, Orthodox Christians, Evangelical Christians, including adherents of the Armenian Evangelical Church, Pentecostals, Seventh-day Adventists, Baptists, Charismatic Christians, and Jehovah's Witnesses. There are also followers of the Church of Jesus Christ and the Holy Apostolic Catholic Church. Assyrian Church of the East, as well as Molokan Christians, Yazidis, Jews, Baha'is, Shia Muslims, Sunni Muslims, and pagans who hold to pre-Christian faiths. According to members of the Jewish community, there are about 800-1000 Jews. According to the census there are over 35,000 Yazidis, Yazidi human rights activists and academics estimate the estimated numbers to be over 50,000.

Yazidis are concentrated mainly in agricultural areas, north-west of Yerevan in the area of Mount Aragats.

Armenian Catholic Uniates live primarily in the north. Most Muslims are Shia, including Iranians and temporary residents of the Middle East...
