The Main Water Supply Department of the city of Al-Hasakah called on the international community, the international coalition against ISIS and the Russian guarantor to take responsibility and put pressure on illegal gangs that are rampaging in areas where the Yazidi minority lives in Syria.

The local Yazidi population has issued a statement for public opinion regarding the ongoing shutdown of water by the Alouk station from the districts of Al-Hasakah and its countryside, where Yazidi minority lives.

The actions of illegal gangs of formations are characterized as systematic aggressiveness directed against residents of the north and east of Syria.

The statement reads: "The actions of illegal armed gangs of formations are considered a "war crime" under international law, since it is aimed at imposing living conditions leading to coercion of the population".

It is noteworthy that illegal gang formations blocked the water of the Alouk station for more than a million people of Al-Hasakah more than 20 times, as opposition groups loyal to it took control of the Sere kanye River/ Ayn district back in October 2019.
