Seif and Sari are two Yezidi children from Shangal who were captured by ISIS terrorists in 2014.

According to Seif and Sari, in 2014, because of an attack by ISIS terrorists, the entire male population of their village was shot in the central square of the village, the terrorists took women and children captive, or rather into slavery. Young girls were turned into sex slaves, and young boys were turned into kamikaze terrorists. Young people remember:

"We were beaten, tortured, taught to kill our own Yezidis, calling them infidels. The time spent in captivity and slavery of ISIS was a real hell, and we try not to remember that time."

The miraculously escaped parents of these young people searched for their children for two years. Having learned the approximate location of the camp with abducted and recruited children, desperate parents, with the help of intermediaries, bought their sons out of ISIS slavery, after which they urgently immigrated to Canada.

After moving to Canada, Seif and Sari went to school, took rehabilitation courses with psychologists, and were integrated into a modern civilized society.

"Many people may be surprised, because we have now graduated from university as a brother and entered graduate school. We will work hard, develop, and move forward in life. We did not give up and we will not give up, because we are a Yazidi people who love life and peace even though ISIS tried to destroy us and our roots.

In conclusion, let the Iraqi government be ashamed that no one helped us during the genocide of the Yezidi people, and we will remember this for the rest of our lives. Many thanks to the Canadian government and the state, we will not forget that Canada gave us a second chance in life, we will return everything in double working and developing Canada.»
