The Coalition for Just Reparations (C4JR) held an online event last week to mark the end of UNITAD's mandate. The participants of the event had the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers at the online conference, including a representative of Yazidis.info.

The event was co-organised by Yazda, the International Bar Association Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI), Human Rights Watch (HRW) and Amnesty International. Speakers included Baroness Helena Kennedy, UNITAD representative Ana Peiro Llopis, respected human rights lawyers and other authorities in the field. There was also a meaningful opportunity for both the most Yazidi survivors and those who have experienced captivity and slavery by ISIL terrorists to participate in the discussion.

The online discussions provided an overview of the tremendous work accomplished in recent years and the end of UNITAD's work in Iraq. Participants shared reflections on the recent UNITAD road map report and the broader termination of its mandate, and discussed the remaining outstanding challenges, putting forward relevant recommendations for their further resolution.
