The fact that students in Shangal district have to face many challenges to get an education is alarming. The lack of schools in rural areas, the lack of books and educational materials in Yazidi language, and the long distances that students have to walk to get to school are serious obstacles.

Yazidi language is a unique and important part of Yazidi culture. It is important for Yazidi children to learn their mother tongue in order to preserve their culture and identity. However, the Iraqi government does not recognize Yazidi as a separate language, and the Kurdish government considers Yazidi to be a dialect of Kurdish. This lack of recognition makes it difficult to promote and support Yazidi language education.

It is also disturbing to hear that Yazidi language is not officially recognized in Iraq or Kurdistan. This means that Yazidis face discrimination in education and other aspects of their lives.

I hope that the governments of Iraq and Kurdistan will take steps to improve education in the Shangal area and recognize Yazidi language. This is important to ensure that Yazidis have the same opportunities as other Iraqis and Kurds.
