Since 2018, "Nadias Initiative Foundation" has been actively engaged in the restoration of the Shangal region, which was attacked by ISIL terrorists.
The Shangal region is still in a difficult state, it needs investments and assistance to restore infrastructure, houses, schools, and other necessary conditions for the return of Yazidi refugees living in temporary residence camps.
Nadias Initiative is currently restoring the Shangal Public Transport station, a key transport hub in the city, with USAID funding.
In early September, the staff of the rapid response service celebrated the opening of a new and improved Civil Defense Department. With financial support from USAID, the Nadia Initiative built and furnished staff offices, as well as provided security vehicles and equipment for emergency response units. "Nadias Initiative" and USAID also support the Northern Shangal Electric Power Department.
A medical facility is being built in the village of Al-Jzera, which is very necessary for residents.
One of the important problems of the region is the poor condition of roads. To improve the communication system, USAID and the "Nadia Initiative" restored the main road of Sinun. After that, many people were able to return to their homes, and shops and other business facilities were opened on the street.
Thus, the recovery of the region continues, but investments are needed for even faster results.
