Training workshop - Women's political participation in Iraq
Within the framework of its project "Expanding the working space for civil society institutions in Iraq", funded by the Swedish Development Agency and a Norwegian non-governmental organization, a training workshop was held for activists on writing and developing social cohesion initiatives and mutual learning, which implies the importance of the participation of Yazidi women in the political life of the region.
The Project Manager expressed the importance of the workshop, especially in this area, which was a problem for women and society until 2003. The first day of the event included " forming a workshop and a circle of interests - opportunities for participation, developing an initiative - defining a problem - defining a goal, defining a category / developing an activity / creating a working group.
The second day of the workshop included the participation of Iraqi women in political life: boundaries of opportunity / equal learning. Methods of identifying values and trends, methods of information exchange / Peer education and counseling.
The seminar ended on the third day with several topics and practical work: effective communication skills, practical work: facilitation of mutual learning sessions, presentations of public initiatives, assessment and conclusion.
These and previous training workshops aim to build activists who work and contribute to positive change and the promotion of human rights and sustainable peace in Iraq.
