The Minister of Justice for Granting French Citizenship held a meeting with the victims of the Yazidi genocide in 2014. The event was held to carefully study the situation of Yazidis seeking asylum in France, to listen to all their requests.

To date, about 500 Yazidis have found refuge in France. Nadia Murad, a Yazidi activist who survived the capture of ISIS terrorists, also joined the meeting.

The Minister stressed in her statement that she is happy to welcome Yazidis to France and will continue the battle to restore justice with the Nobel Prize winner Nadia Murad, supporting the Yazidi people. "The Yazidis were victims of the genocide committed by ISIL, and it is a great honor for France to provide them with shelter and protection," the statement said.

The Minister confirmed that she is working on a program to strengthen the integration of the victims of the Yazidi genocide, focusing on learning French by Yazidis and supporting their employment.
