Malkhas Amoyan is among the top ten sportsmen of Armenia

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan presented awards to the ten best sportsmen of the past 2023. A representative of the Yezidi community was also included in the top ten athletes of the country.

Malkhas Amoyan, one of the brightest representatives of the Yezidi people, who successfully won the title of two-time European champion and became a bronze medalist at the 2023 World Championships in Greco-Roman wrestling. His skills and talent secured him a trip to the Olympics.

According to the results of the voting conducted among the coaches of the national team and sports journalists accredited by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Malkhas Amoyan became one of the best sportsmen of Armenia with a score of 332 points. Only Artur Aleksanyan was able to overtake him in terms of points.

The top ten sportsmen of Armenia included representatives of four sports: wrestling, boxing, weightlifting and artistic gymnastics. The athletes were awarded by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who congratulated the winners and expressed Armenia's pride in these tireless athletes. He emphasized that these athletes work hard, fight and relentlessly pursue their dream of reaching the top in sports.
