In the twenty-first century, relations between minorities and majorities remain a powerful source of conflict between different peoples. Unfortunately, the Yazidi community is no exception. The "struggle", so to speak, manifests itself in the following way, it touches on such sensitive issues as historical primacy, cultural identity, etc. Demographic facts are often difficult to establish and are a controversial issue. Cultural identity, namely its preservation for us Yazidis is a significant problem. The" popularity " of the majority culture is more attractive and interesting than your "minority" culture, to which there are so many questions that we get few answers.
Minority issues relate to the political participation and social integration of groups that differ culturally (ethnic, religious and/or linguistic) from the majority population. Political as well as scientific perceptions and interpretations of minority issues are closely linked to the history, identity and institutional framework of societies and States. Consequently, minorities have a couple of development paths:
The first is marginalization, radicalization, which naturally leads to a more aggressive development path for communities. This path will lead to the oblivion of communities, including our Yazidi community.
The second path is the passive path of development, where the community finds it difficult to maintain its identity and watches as the community slowly and surely disappears.
To preserve the identity of the Yazidi community, it is necessary to choose the path of the "Golden mean". How to reach this very path? The question is still open.
