About Sharya
Sharya is a Yazidi town south-west of Duhok that, like Khanke, became host to a major camp for people displaced from Sinjar after 2014. It combines a long-standing resident community with a large displaced population.
The camp has been a focus of humanitarian and reconstruction work, and its residents' prospects are closely tied to conditions for return in Sinjar.
