About Duhok

Duhok is a provincial city in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Since 2014 its province has hosted the largest concentration of Yazidis displaced from Sinjar, both in formal camps and in towns and rented accommodation across the area.

For many families Duhok province has been home for the better part of a decade, and its camps and institutions have become central to contemporary Yazidi life in Iraq.

This is a community place rather than a primarily religious one. Population and return figures move and are always given with a source and a date rather than stated as fixed.
