About Khanke
Khanke, on the edge of the Mosul reservoir near Duhok, is both an established Yazidi town and the site of one of the large camps for internally displaced people set up after the fall of Sinjar in 2014.
The camp and the town together have formed one of the principal centres of displaced Yazidi life, with schools, aid programmes, and community organisations operating there over many years.
