About Jazira (Amuda)
The Jazira region of north-eastern Syria is home to Yazidi communities living among the wider Kurdish population, with a presence around towns including Amuda and in villages of the Hasakah countryside.
These communities have their own local institutions and have at times received Yazidis displaced from elsewhere in the region. Conditions have been shaped by the wider Syrian conflict.
