I don't think it is necessary for me to be in the [coalition] government. I am where I am. I think I have a very important role, - said the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili at a meeting with the media. With this, სhe answered a journalist's question about whether სhe sees herself in a coalition government.

As Salome Zurabishvili pointed out, it is very easy to unite a coalition government today, because all parties know what they have in common - opening negotiations with the European Union.

"We must understand clearly - the coalition government does not mean that the one who was at the head before will be destroyed and will leave the game altogether. A coalition government may also mean that the same "Georgian dream" will play some role. Today, in election conditions, it is very easy to put together a coalition government because we know what we have in common - negotiations with the European Union. Well, someone should say that negotiations with the European Union should not be opened. I think no one would dare to do that. It is easy for anyone who agrees on the subject of the EU to join a coalition government. The purpose of this government will be very clear. It may not be possible to fulfill all nine recommendations, but we must fulfill what is necessary for the country.

I don't think it is necessary to be in government on my side. I am where I am, I think I have a very important role. The more often people say that I don't have a role, the more I am convinced that I probably do. Especially in this period. This is an attempt to have some kind of unity between all parties and to see where are the common points on which our future step towards Europe can be built", said Salome Zurabishvili.
