The editorial office of the Cultural Center of the Caucasus Yazidis is pleased to present to its readers another talented representative of the Yazidi people. Today we will talk about Teymuraz Afoevich Rashoev, who is an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts (2015).

Teymuraz Afoevich, Yazidi by nationality, was born on November 16, 1951, in the city of Tbilisi, where in 1971 he graduated from the Tbilisi Art School named after M. Toidze. In 1967-1968 he studied in Z.K.Tsereteli's studio and was one of the leading artists of Z.K.Tsereteli's creative studio. He took direct part in realization of many projects for Moscow, as well as in creation of numerous monuments in Russia, in the countries of near and far abroad.

Teymuraz Afoevich is the artist-executor of works in the technique of stained glass, metal (including stainless steel). A specialist in the design, fabrication and construction of steel supporting structures for monumental sculpture.

Among the major works of the artist - stained glass window "Victory" in the Museum of the Great Patriotic War on Poklonnaya Hill (1995). ), stained glass "Salute" at the Permanent Mission of the USSR at the UN in New York (USA, 1980), a mosaic at the metro station "Dubrovka" (1999), panels on the library building at Moscow University (metal, 2005), stained glass windows at the Moscow metro station "Trubnaya" (2007), "Crystal Chapel" at the State Museum of Modern Art of the Russian Academy of Arts in Moscow (metal, 1996-2013), a monument dedicated to the fight against international terrorism (Bayonne, USA, 2006), "Warrior Skier" at Patriot Park (2017. ) and others.

The sculptor currently lives and works in Moscow. We are pleased to inform our readers, about the exhibition of sculpture and mosaics Teymuraz Afoevich, which is open to the public from June 8 to 21, 2023 from 14:30 to 18:00 in the city of Moscow, in the House of Peoples of Russia.
