«Srochik» Castle, another archaeological wonder in Kurdistan. The ancient castle «Srochik», known as the "Castle of stone and lime", is in the Kurdistan Region, but this is all that is known about it due to the lack of research and study of this area to date.

The castle is located on a hilltop 100 km northeast of the city of Suleymania in the village of Morias of the Barzindzha subdistrict.
"According to its amazing architecture, the House can date back two thousand years ago. The castle, as our ancestors told us, was built from time immemorial before the emergence of Islam," said one of the local Yezidi residents.

"I like to look at this castle, maybe it belonged to the Yezidi ruler. This castle is unique because it was built of small stones, and this is something amazing that I have never seen in other castles in Kurdistan," says Akim Aso, a Yazidi emigrant, a tourist from Germany.

"This is a rare castle, but we know almost nothing about it, we need to start working on this unique place as soon as possible. We can discover facts that no one can imagine," says local historian Kamaran Hassan.
Experts are calling on the government to allocate a budget for the site, which needs local and international teams for excavation, inspection, and study.

There are so many international teams working in different places, but the Bridge requires immediate attention, because it can collapse any day. It's just a miracle that the castle stands to this day.

Badr Amad, a guest from France, says that he has seen many castles outside Kurdistan, which have been turned into beautiful tourist places. But unfortunately, there is no special attention to the castle from the authorities, or maybe because it really belonged to the Yezidis, and no one cares about preserving the history and culture of the Yezidi people.
According to local historians and archaeologists, Kurdistan is rich in castles such as the «Srochik», but their condition is not a bit better than this.
