Yamanchair is located 35 kilometers from Kars and 20 kilometers from Digor. A famous Yazidi writer, Ajie Jindi, lived in this house. Growing up, the writer had to leave Yamanchair , but he always dreamed of returning here and shone one of his poems to his native places.

A local resident says that his ancestors are from Armenia and this village was once one of the wealthiest Yazidi villages. There was a Yazidi zariat temple in the village, but it was eventually destroyed by detractors.

In 1882, there were 15 Yazidi villages from the Sipki clan in the Digor district. In the same way as in any other villages, they were mainly engaged in cattle breeding.

Local residents say that many of them still have relatives in Armenia and Russia, but for one reason or another they can't meet and they don't have any connections with them.
