Yazidis have many religious festivals and holy days which are obligatory and common for all Yazidis. One of these holy days is "Rozha Mazala" (All Souls' Day).

"Rozha Mazala" is celebrated mostly only by Yazidis of the former Soviet Union in June. This year, the Day of Remembrance for the Dead falls on June 15. On this day, the cemetery is already crowded in the morning, everyone visits the graves of their relatives. Sheikhs and pirs - representatives of the clergy - visit the graves of their mrids, where they recite the memorial prayer ("qawl" and "tarkin"), and then accept donations "mashe tarkine" or "khera mri" from the relatives of the dead. First, the sheikhs and pirs, upon arriving at the cemetery, recite a common prayer for the repose of the souls of the deceased in the name of Shihadi ("khera nave Shihadi") and then they go around their mrids.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the difficult political and socio-economic situation, a considerable number of Yazidis left Georgia and moved to Russia, Ukraine and Western Europe. But despite this, many come to Georgia and Armenia every year to honor their deceased relatives.
