Yazidis Shangala create a military-political bloc
On August 8, four Yazidi parties signed an agreement on the establishment of the Yazidi coalition military-political bloc. The bloc includes the Yazidi party for progress, the Yazidi Democratic party, the freedom and democracy Party and the Party for development and change. The agreement provides for the establishment of a local government in Shangal and the unification of paramilitary groups. Also, the parties agreed that the future parliamentary elections will act as a single unit.
The decision of the Yazidi parties was welcomed by the Chairman of the humanitarian organization Murad Ismail.
"A very important step for the future of Yazidis in Iraq. We have always called on various groups to unite in the face of the many threats faced by the Yazidis," said Murad Ismail.
Yazidi Deputy of the National Assembly of Armenia Rustam Bakoyan, who was personally present at the signing of the agreement, also welcomed the creation of the bloc.
Two of the four parties have the most combat-ready military formations. "Force protection Ezdikhana" are the military wing "of the Democratic party of Yazidis" and of "Forces of resistance Shangala" paramilitary "Party of freedom and democracy." It is planned that all military formations will unite in a single security service.
Of all the parties, only the Yazidi party for progress has representation in the Iraqi Parliament.
