After a break that lasted for several months due to the coronavirus, the Bashika forum resumes its cultural activities.

Under the slogan "Our Return" and in the presence of several Yazidi poets and writers and those interested in the literary field, the Bashiqa Cultural Forum resumed its activities.

The event included a minute of silence in memory of the fallen Yazidi martyrs in Iraq, followed by poets reciting their poems.

Project Director Karam Tabbani told Ezidi24: "Today, in collaboration with Yazidi organizations, we have resumed the Bashiqa Cultural Forum event as part of the Forward project, together with the communities of Nineveh in Iraq, funded by the Canadian organization MCC. The project is aimed at establishing peace and strengthening ties between various national minorities in society."

The director of the Bashiqa Cultural Forum, Haji Al-Mershawi, added: "Today we held an evening of poetry to mark the resumption of our cultural and literary activities. It was a special evening, where the poets and writers of the Bashiqa Cultural Forum presented their best works to the audience.

Many thanks to the Yazidi organizations for supporting this event and providing all the opportunities for its implementation. Many thanks also to the wonderful audience, from now on we will continue our activities in relation to culture and literature."
