Another Yazidi girl kidnapped by ISIS in 2014 has been found

Since 2014, more than 3,000 Yazidi girls have gone missing or are being held captive by terrorists. The international community is doing a lot to find and rescue and redeem the prisoners. For the past 6 years, we have periodically received news that another Yazidi woman has been saved and released. These small victories bring hope to all of us, that perhaps in the future we will be able to free everyone and bring peace to their homes.

Ten-year-old Sonya Khalil was saved after 6 years of captivity. A four-year-old girl could not have imagined in 2014 that she would have to go through hell to see her mother again 6 years later. The picture of her being embraced again by her own mother brings tears of joy to all of us. The girl had a chance for a new quiet life in her home, with her mother and family in the Sinjar district.
