Pentagon: PKK blocks implementation of the Shangal Agreement
The US Department of Defense (Pentagon), in a report to the Congress of its country, assessed the relations between the Kurdistan Workers ' Party (PKK) and the Iranian-backed militias in Iraq and Shangal: "The PKK hinders the implementation of the Shangal Agreement, which is the best solution for ending the conflict and normalizing the situation in the region.
