Conclusion

Today, the Yazidis, who have fallen under the influence of Kurdish nationalism, do not oppose the relatively new self – name "Kurd" for the Yazidis, but categorically oppose the historically established endo-ethnonym "ezdi", claiming that our language is Kurdish, and Yazidi was invented to divide the Kurds. They believe that you can not use the word "ezdiki", but instead you should say "Kurdish" and identify yourself as Kurds, because Muslims do not consider themselves an ethnic group. But the name of the language does not correspond to any laws of nature or logic. Of course, you can also call the language Muslim, even if such a language does not exist. There is, for example, "Yiddish", which Jews use as a linguonym and it is translated as "Jewish language".

The example from "ezdiki" is not an isolated case. Against this background, it would be appropriate to demonstrate attempts to build a nationalist ideology. Arab Shamilov, the author of the first novel in Kurmanji, called his work "Shivane kurmanca", which translates as"Kurmanji shepherd". Some Kurdish nationalists did not like this title, because "the first Kurdish novel in history" talks about the Kurdish people, but it does not say a word about the Kurds, which from an ideological point of view would make the novel less useful for legitimizing Kurdish nationalism. Subsequently, the novel was reissued with a new title - "Shivane kurda"("The Kurdish Shepherd"). Another example – "Folklorê kurmanca" Hadjie Jindi was renamed " Folklorê kurda "("Kurdish folklore").
