Dear Josep Borrell and Charles Michel, what else do you need to finally sanction Bidzina Ivanishvili for destroying Georgian democracy, to freeze EU funds and stop accession negotiations? - MEP Miriam Lexmann said, addressing the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy and Security, Josep Borrell, and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.
“Dear Josep Borrell and Charles Michel, what else do you need to finally sanction Bidzina Ivanishvili for his destruction of Georgian democracy, to freeze EU funds and stop the opening of accession negotiations?
Now is the time to save Georgian democracy and stand with its people," she said.
The remarks come in response to the statement made by the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, according to which: ““In line with the decision of Georgian Dream’s board, using party structures we are starting to set up a database where information on all individuals involved in violence, other illegal activities, threats and blackmail or those who publicly approve of such actions. This database will be uploaded on a special website and will be public and transparent for citizens of Georgia”.
