As part of its "Together for peace" project, the Italian bridge UPP organized a training workshop on religious, ethnic and linguistic diversity for a group of young male and female activists aged 15 to 30 in the presence of more than 40 boys and girls from all walks of life on the Nineveh plain, including members of the Yazidi minority and local Arabs. The training was supervised by Saad sallum, an expert on religious diversity in Iraq.

The training workshop started at the ZOOM link, with a presentation by LeskI Van de Kirk, Director of the Together for peace project, in which She pointed out that the project's priority is to familiarize young people with the ethnic minorities present in Iraq, and ways of education, social cohesion, and various social activities that contribute to positive change. The workshop is part of the "Together for peace" project and is one of the projects of the Italian UPP.

At the beginning of the training workshop, Saad Salloum touched on the map of ethnic, religious and linguistic diversity found in Iraq and Kurdistan, and then Salloum presented an analytical overview of national minority rights in an international framework. The second day of the training workshop was devoted to the right to freedom of religion and belief. Some of the problems faced by minorities in specific areas are the problems of coexistence and confidence-building between Christians and shabakomi in the Nineveh plain, and Arabs and Yazidis in Sinjar and Mosul.

Trainee Sajid Ali said that " Iraq is one of the important countries in the middle East. Iraq has for thousands of years covered many religious, ethnic and national minorities, and they belong to the indigenous peoples of Mesopotamia (such as the Yazidis, Assyrians, Armenians, Syrians, Kurds, Chaldeans, Sabeans, mandeans, Jews, Shabaks, Turkmens, kakai, Christians, Zoroastrians, Bahai, etc.).
