We are Yazidis, we forget about art

Today, we hear less and less about exhibitions of Yazidi artists. We think less and less about art. Many will have an argument: "In our difficult time, not to pictures." If you look at the history of art, we will notice that artists did not stop doing their own things, despite the adversities of the times. I would like to ask the reader a rhetorical question: when was the last time you visited an exhibition of Yazidi artists?

The problem is that we Yazidis don't take art very seriously, because we often tell our children, and maybe ourselves, that art doesn't make a profit. Of course, after these words we repress in ourselves the sense of beauty and go to the factories.

You cannot think that among the Yazidis there are no talents on the level of van Gogh and other famous artists. We have stopped looking for them, and they themselves are already hiding their abilities. The art people of the Yazidi community have become like the "unicorn “myth.

Perhaps we Yazidis need to think not only about the material world, but also about the world of art. Let's not suppress the love of art in our children, but rather start encouraging the younger generation, and perhaps among the Yazidis there will be a Creator on the level of Leonardo da Vinci.
