The second stage of construction of the road leading to the Yazidi shrines has begun. The road was washed out and destroyed as a result of rains and a landslide.

During holidays and religious rites, the Yazidi population climbed the mountain where the Yazidi shrines are located. According to custom, representatives of the clergy go first, reading religious hymns and prayers, followed by young people, men, women and children.

The rugged road, teeming with rocks, zigzags and holes, is dangerous for the movement of the Yazidi population.

The first stage of road construction lasted several months and was suspended due to a coronavirus. The second stage of construction is led by Ehab Salim and volunteers.

Ehab noted that the project is implemented with the support of volunteers who get up in the morning and work until the evening almost free of charge. We have only to drill an artesian well to water the trees and plants that have been planted, and for other needs of the population that complete the project and our plan. We appeal to humanitarian and international organizations that can support this project so that it becomes a tourist destination and a project that can be used for the economy of the region.
