Yazda supports volunteer groups to raise awareness of the COVID-19 outbreak in Sinjar
The Yazda team in Sinjar and surrounding areas supported five volunteer groups in coordinating actions and distributing materials that will help reduce the likelihood of increased COVID-19 distribution.
The activities of the group of volunteers included sterilization areas of the city of Sinjar with disinfectants, and the area of Solhah near Sinjar. In addition, volunteers distribute gloves and masks in the village of Nasiriya and in the markets of Sinjar. They sterilized Sharfadin Shrine as well as surrounding areas and distributed informational posters about preventing the COVID-19 outbreak. Volunteers are running a campaign at the Zorava complex to raise awareness of the risks of coronavirus.
The volunteer groups that receive support from Yazda are part of the project "Supporting the return of IDPs in the Nineveh plain and Western Nineveh", funded by USAID with the support of the International organization for migration (IOM), "the Future" (COBF), "the Borek future Group" ("Borek al-Mustaqbil"), "the society assessment Group", the Zorava Youth center, "the future Snubel Organization" and the "helping Hand" group.
