Tbilisi (Georgia) - on April 28, the results of the 2014 General population census conducted by the national statistics service (Gruzstat) were published in Georgia. According to the data, 12,200 people of Yazidi nationality live in the country, which is 0.3% of the total population of Georgia. Of them, 8600 people profess viciousness, and 3600 people, that is, about 30% of those who called themselves Yazidis, are adherents of other religions.

If we compare these figures with the 2002 census, there is a tendency to decrease the Yazidi population in Georgia, as well as to religious assimilation. Recall that according to the 2002 census, 17,116 people of Yazidi nationality lived in the country. Of these, 13,591 people professed yazidism, 3,513 people professed Christianity, and 12 people professed other faiths.at that time, 21% of the Yazidi population had abandoned their ancestral faith, and in 2014 this figure had already reached 30%.
