Yazidis of Georgia celebrated the Tavaf Ezid holiday

Yazidi Council of Georgia held a festive event in honor of Tavafa Ezid (Sultan Ezid Temple Day).
Guests from around the world were invited to the event, representatives of the Lalish Temple, a delegation from Germany, qawals from Iraq who sang sacred Yazidi hymns, representatives of the Yazidi community of Russia, Armenia - Khdr Ajoyan and Said Avdalyan, also prominent figures of the Yazidi community, singers, artists, political figures and journalists.
Clergymen led by Dimitri Pirbari read prayers in honor of Koba Sultan Ezid at the beginning of the festivities.
During the Tawaf Ezid ceremony, the "Lef" (Flag) changes annually on the dome of the Ziyarat (Temple).
Representatives of the Iraqi clergy congratulated the Georgian Yazidi community. The guests were also addressed by representatives of the Baptist and Catholic churches, Jewish rabbis, and a representative of the Georgian government, who congratulated the Georgian Yazidi community on the occasion on behalf of Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
After the liturgy, the guests moved to the Cultural Center at the Temple, where an art exhibition, a buffet and an award ceremony for the Yazidi community of Georgia awaited them.
The festivities were followed by a banquet to which guests and foreign representatives of the Yazidi diaspora were invited.
Journalists and the editor of yazidis.info Iurii Smoev attended the organized event. The Cultural Center of Yazidis of the Caucasus with the support of the website yazidis.info congratulates all Yazidis on the occasion of Tavafa Ezid Temple Day and also congratulates the Spiritual Council of the Yazidis of Georgia on the occasion of 11th anniversary.
