The Ministry of health of Georgia purchased 200 thousand rapid tests for antigens and antibodies. This was reported in the press service of the Department.

The Ministry of health did not specify the name of the manufacturer, noting that the tests passed several checks and received permission to export from China. They are also supplied to European countries and the United States. Another 100 thousand rapid tests for antigens were provided by a Korean company that has already cooperated with the Ministry of health of Georgia in the past.

The Agency notes that the purchased test systems are highly accurate. They will be distributed to the appropriate clinics and institutions.

The AIIB granted Georgia its first loan of almost 91.4 million euros to fight the coronavirus in may this year. The parties signed a loan agreement for the rapid response project against COVID-19. the Goal is to prevent, detect, respond to threats caused by the pandemic and strengthen the national health system.

Funds are provided to support the health sector, strengthen the epidemiological capabilities of public health Centers, expand testing, ensure the availability of critical medical devices and equipment, and provide social and financial support to families and individuals directly or indirectly affected by COVID-19.

The financial resources allocated to the AIIB are part of the loan agreement "rapid response Project against COVID-19", issued by Georgia and the world Bank on may 1. Then the organization allocated 80 million dollars to the country.
