Famous businessman brothers Chocheli and millionaire MP Kakha Okriashvili joined the Progress and freedom party under the chairmanship of Nikoloz Gvritishvili. The party has already registered with the CEC to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Thus, Kakha Okriashvili and the brothers Caesar and Iago Chocheli are going to the elections together. This was reported today by the Imedi TV company.

The name of Chocheli is associated with the production of popular Georgian brands of beer "Natakhtari", "Zedazeni" and "Lomisi", chocolate and ice cream "Barambo"and the first Georgian washing powder "Berta".

Tsezar Chocheli also known for having collaborated with the previous and current ruling parties. In 2016, Chocheli also ran for the post of majority Deputy in the Mtskheta district. Then he lost to the candidate from "Georgian dream", taking the second place.

As for Okriashvili, he was a member of the Georgian Parliament three times. He was last elected as a majority MP from Dmanisi. Okriashvili is the owner of the PSP pharmacy chain, as well as a network of clinics and insurance companies of the same name. Only in the form of dividends for 2018, Okriashvili received more than 2.1 million lari (710 thousand dollars). According to the opposition, since 2013, firms belonging to him have won tenders for a total of 112 million lari (more than 38 million dollars).

Like many other majority members of the Georgian dream, Okriashvili did not support the constitutional amendments on holding parliamentary elections in 2020 under the proportional system. After that, Okriashvili left the ranks of the parliamentary majority.

Today it became known that the mayor of dmanis municipality, Georgi Tatuashvili, was expelled from the ruling party. The reason is the support of the rival-the majority candidate in Dmanisi. As it turned out, Tatuashvili is going to support Kakha Okriashvili and his party in the elections.

At the same time, Tatuashvili said that he learned that he was excluded from the party from journalists.

"The entire population of Dmanisi supports Kakha Okriashvili, I am also from Dmanisi, what right do I have not to support him? I will support him as the majority candidate, and I will support the party created by Okriashvili, " said the mayor of Dmanisi.

It should be noted that prior to being elected mayor of the municipality of Dmanisi in 2017, Tatuashvili worked as a lawyer in the pharmaceutical company Okriashvili.

In the 2020 parliamentary elections, the 14th electoral district, after amendments to the Constitution, includes the municipalities of Bolnisi, Dmanisi, Tetritskaro and Tsalka.

On behalf of the ruling party "Georgian dream" in this County will run Gogi Meshveliani. So far, no other party has officially named a candidate in this district.
