The administration of the government of Georgia has published answers to questions that often arise from citizens in connection with the ban on the use of passenger cars from April 17 to 21.

What kind of vehicle can I use?

Motorbikes, mopeds, and bicycles are not prohibited. You don't need a special permission to do this

How can I get a car pass?

If you are engaged in a permitted economic activity, you must apply for a pass to a branch Ministry (for example, the Ministry of agriculture or the Ministry of economy). If you are engaged in such activities that are not supervised by any branch Ministry, and your movement, based on the activity, is an emergency, you should call the government's hotline at number 144.

I have a company that is engaged in permitted economic activities. How should my employees arrive at work?

An entity engaged in permitted economic activity is required to ensure the movement of employees in vehicles of category M2 (minibus) and M3 (bus). To obtain this permission, the company must apply to the relevant municipality. The municipality will determine the route for vehicles of the M2 and M3 categories for the purpose of transporting passengers under an agreement with the operational headquarters.

How can I move around to get medical help?

For the purpose of receiving medical care, movement is permitted:

if you have clear signs that you need medical care (for example, you have started giving birth, a fracture, and so on), you are allowed to travel to get medical care (together with an accompanying person).

if you need to get planned medical care (for example: dialysis, cancer treatment, and so on.) When traveling, you must have a certificate issued by a medical institution.

If you do not have such a certificate, you should contact your doctor/medical institution, who, for their part, if necessary, send the relevant information to the Ministry of health. Based on this, you will be issued a targeted electronic permit. If it is impossible to get a certificate in electronic form, the delivery of the certificate to the address will be provided by the district office of the social service Agency.

Can I call for food/pharmaceutical delivery?

It is allowed to move for the purpose of providing services for the delivery of food and medical products. Accordingly, you can use the delivery service for such products.

Can I visit the cemetery?

It is forbidden to enter the territory of cemeteries. The ban does not apply only to funerals of the deceased.

Visiting cemeteries is forbidden only in the city or everywhere?

The entrance to the cemeteries is prohibited on the territory of the whole country.

In which institutions is it mandatory to wear a mask?

You must wear a protective face mask in all enclosed public spaces (for example, in a pharmacy, grocery store, and so on).

Can I move around for agricultural work?

For agricultural work, it is allowed to move only on machines or equipment for agricultural purposes (for example: a tractor, combine harvester, and so on). Other types of mechanical transport are prohibited.

I have a permit to travel in a company car. Can I use this vehicle to transport family members or other people?

No. This type of vehicle should only be used by you and only for official purposes.

I have a permit to travel by car for official purposes. Can I transport a co-worker in my vehicle?

Yes, you can transport a co-worker in your vehicle to work, but in accordance with the rules for transporting passengers – no more than three people, including the driver, two passengers in the back seat.
