"The main thing is that there is a clear agreement between the member States on updating the essential package, so I leave Georgia with new energy," James Appathurai, NATO Secretary General's special representative for Transcaucasia and Central Asia, told channel One.

"The update of the essential package consists of three parts. The first is to successfully complete what we started five years ago. The second is to update what we are already doing and what we need to continue to implement. And the third is the new elements. I leave Georgia with a lot of ideas about new elements. But now we have to discuss these ideas with Georgia, with our military, with other countries, and then see what exactly we can do. Most importantly, there is a clear agreement among member States to update and strengthen the substantive package. Therefore, I leave Georgia with new energy, " said James Appathurai.

"We are working together, Russia is openly doing everything possible to stop the process. But we make our own decisions about graduate countries. We proved it in the case of Montenegro, we confirmed it in the case of Northern Macedonia. Russia did not want these countries to join, but we have made a decision and will do so in the future. Now we need to continue to work and convince that when the moment of membership comes, Georgia will be ready for it," James Appathurai said.
