Kaladze welcomes the separation of the energy sector from the Ministry of economy of Georgia

Tbilisi mayor Kakha Kaladze, who previously held the post of energy Minister in the Georgian dream government, welcomes the idea of separating the energy sector from the Ministry of economy, Imedi TV reports.

Since the end of 2017, the Ministry of energy has been abolished and the powers of the Department transferred to the Ministry of economy and sustainable development. Then it was explained by the possibility of more effective investment attraction.

Kakha Kaladze said he did not support the ruling team's decision to abolish the Ministry. In his opinion, such an important sphere as energy should exist in the form of a separate Ministry.

According to Imedi, a member of the parliamentary majority Revaz Arveladze addressed a letter to the new Prime Minister of Georgia Georgy Gakharia about the separation of the Ministry of energy from the Ministry of economy. The Deputy believes that after the unification of the two important sectors of the economy and energy, the latter can not cope with the existing challenges.

In the Ministry of economy while declare that the question of office isn't on the agenda.

Meanwhile, after personnel changes in the government of Georgia, the possibility of dividing the Ministry of education, science, culture and sports of Georgia into two and possibly three departments is seriously discussed.
