US Department of State estimates allocation of USD 80 million for Georgia in FY 2025

The US Department of State published an estimated funding of Foreign Operations, and Related Programs for the Fiscal Year of 2025 that envisages an allocation of USD 80 million for Georgia.

The Budget Justification draft has been submitted to the US Congress.

According to the document, the request will support Georgia’s democratic and economic development and Euro-Atlantic integration. The funding will assist institutional control and balance, strengthening the rule of law, access to free, reliable and balanced media, political pluralism, reconciliation efforts including in the occupied Abkhazia and South Ossetia regions, increase energy security and green energy use, boost reforms, improve cyber security and resilience, expand the competitiveness of the private sector, assist foreign investments attraction, public accountability and promote anti-corruption initiatives.

The Biden administration requests a total of $58.8 billion for the US State Department and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) for fiscal year 2025.
