British government's recognition of the Yazidi victims of genocide is a welcome step, but it is only the first step. Yazidis still need justice and accountability for the crimes committed against them. They also need help to rebuild their lives and society.

UK government must use its influence to put pressure on the Iraqi government to give the Yazidis the support they need. This includes providing security in the Sinjar region, rebuilding infrastructure and helping to find missing Yazidis.

The international community also needs to do more to help Yazidis. The United Nations should establish a special tribunal to prosecute those responsible for the genocide. And countries should provide financial aid to Yazidis to help them rebuild their lives.

Yazidis have suffered greatly at the hands of ISIL terrorists. They deserve justice and support. The international community must unite to help them.

Apart from the UK, the following countries have also recognized Yazidis as victims of genocide:

· Germany

· Australia

· Belgium

· Netherlands

· United States

In 2017, the United States also appointed a special envoy for Yazidi affairs.

Recognizing Yazidis as victims of genocide is an important step in the struggle for justice and accountability. It is also a recognition of the suffering that Yazidis have endured.
