Tbilisi decided what the first Georgian brand producing electric cars will be called — it will be given the name "Orvo", industrial designer Zviad tsikoliya, engaged in the design of future cars, said.

"In ancient Colchis the word "ARVI" means eight, infinity," the designer writes, noting that the author of the idea was the industrial designer Giga Khatiashvili, Professor of the Georgian technical University and lecturer of the International school of design IDS (International Design School IDS).
On the eve of the construction of the first not only in Georgia but also in the region of the plant for the production of electric vehicles, Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze said. It was decided to build the plant in the second largest city of Georgia Kutaisi (Imereti region) in 2020.
The corresponding Memorandum was signed in may by the Georgian holding Igroup and the Chinese consortium Changan Automobile.
It is expected that the plant will annually produce 40,000 electric vehicles, one half of which will go to the domestic market, and the second - for export to the EU countries. The production will employ up to 300 local residents.

The industrial complex will be located in Kutaisi on an area of 100 hectares. There will be including enterprises for the production of eco-products, solar panels and high-tech products.
