Statisticians explained why the Georgian economy is growing

According to the preliminary assessment of the National Statistics Service, the growth of real gross domestic product (GDP) in July 2021 compared to the same period last year was 9.9%, and the average growth rate for the first seven months of 2021, January-July, was 12.2%.
Gogita Todradze, Director of the Sakstat Statistics Service, explained the reasons for the economic growth, noting that in July, wine exports increased by 36%, and mineral water exports increased by 22%.
In July 2021, exports increased by 42%, and imports-by 17%.
"As for the reasons in the industrial sector, the growth in the manufacturing sector was mainly due to the metallurgical industry, the export of ferrosilicon manganese increased by 2 times or more."
"At the same time, the export of natural grape wines increased by 36%, and the export of mineral waters increased by 22%," Todradze said.
