Germany, like most European countries, recognizes the genocide of the Yazidi people

Seven years after the genocide of the Yazidis committed by ISIS in August 2014, the German parliament recognizes the genocide of the Yazidi people, after recognizing it by European countries.

The German Bundestag recently published a petition in which it claimed that it recognizes the commission of the genocide of the Yazidis in 2014 by ISIS.

The petition of the German parliament says: "On August 3, 2014, the ISIL organization launched a large-scale military attack on the areas of northern Iraq inhabited by Yazidis. More than 5,000 people were killed and about 7,000 people were abducted, while it is noted that to this day, more than 2,000 women and girls are still missing.

The Governments and bodies of various countries, as well as international organizations, have recognized the Yazidi genocide or adopted resolutions recognizing the Yazidi genocide.

The Yazidi genocide was recognized by the United Nations, Iraq, the UNITAD investigation team, Scotland, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Belgium, Portugal, Australia, Armenia, Italy, France, Iraqi Kurdistan, Ireland, Canada and the European Union.

The largest Yazidi diaspora in the world is located in the Federal Republic of Germany.
