For Zurabishvili, this will be the third speech before the deputies in the rank of head of state.

"In accordance with the Constitution of Georgia, the President once a year submits a report on the most important issues of the state of the country," the report says.

According to the regulations of the Parliament of Georgia, the President of the country must present his annual report on the first day of the spring session of the Parliament — in early February. However, this usually happens later.

After the president's speech, according to the regulations, 10 minutes are given to the chairmen of those factions that are not part of the majority or minority, and 15 minutes to the leaders of the minority and majority.

After the end of the debate, the President of Georgia has the right to make a final speech.

Salome Zurabishvili ran for the post of President of Georgia as an independent candidate. During the election campaign, she was actively supported by the ruling Georgian Dream party, which did not nominate a candidate. After winning the election in the second round, Zurabishvili became the first female president in the Caucasus.
