The priority areas of the city hall's work in 2021 will be socio-economic and infrastructure projects, as well as the environmental and transport policy of the city. This was stated by the Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze at a meeting of the city government.

"The main priorities of this year are to support the socio-economic sphere, for which 350 million lari ($106 million) will be allocated. Approximately 440 million ($133 million) will be spent on infrastructure, " Kaladze said. The mayor noted that this year the restoration work of parks and squares will continue.

"The current pandemic has once again made us understand how important it is to have such open spaces. It is gratifying that the city has a culture of parks, " the mayor said.

Kaladze noted that the Tbilisi City Hall fulfilled the budget plan for 2020 by 96%, but there were some projects whose implementation was prevented by the pandemic and lockdown.

"Because of the pandemic in 2020, there were too many problems. We were forced to postpone some projects due to other priorities. I am sure that we will be able to do a lot of good things together in 2021," Kaladze said.
