The government of Georgia approved the program of promotion of employment for 2021
Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, many Georgian citizens have been left without jobs and income, and the government is doing everything possible to mitigate the consequences of the pandemic for the population.
The Government of Georgia has approved the state program for the development of employment promotion services for 2021, which is implemented by the State Employment Promotion Agency, according to the agency's Facebook page.
The program provides for the implementation of the following activities:
* Development of the labor market management information system (worknet.gov.ge)
* Providing individual and group consultations on the labor market at the municipal level
* Provision and development of intermediary services
* Providing professional career planning consulting services at the municipal level
* Development and implementation of mechanisms to facilitate the employment of vulnerable, low-competitive groups, subsidizing wages and forming a group of employment consultants
* Organization of employment forums
* Conduct and monitor high-quality research to identify in-demand professions and the necessary knowledge and skills
* Organization of trainings and seminars on employment issues in order to raise awareness of the media and the public (local NGOs, international organizations, social partners, employers, private employment agencies)
* Organization of the final conference on issues and problems of employment promotion
The program budget is GEL 770,000 (almost $ 233,000)
Since January 1, 2020, a separate agency for reducing unemployment in the country – the State Agency for Promoting Employment-has started working in Georgia. The agency acts as an intermediary between job seekers and businesses. It keeps records of job seekers, studies the labor market and makes recommendations on the labor market in the country.
