Tbilisi's budget for 2021 has been approved – what will the billion be spent on?
Sakrebulo (city Council) Tbilisi has approved the capital's budget for 2021-its total volume is set at more than 1 billion lari.
The total expenditure will amount to 1 050 302 500 lari (321,8 million dollars). This amount is 28.9 million lari more than in 2020.
The priorities of the main financial document of Tbilisi for 2021 are health, social sphere, education, ecology and infrastructure. The following expenses are listed in the rental:
- construction and rehabilitation of transport infrastructure – 174 263 800 lari (approximately $ 54 million);
-construction, operation of infrastructure facilities and strengthening of emergency buildings – gel 194,636,500 ($59.6 million);
-the preservation and improvement of the ecological state of – 148 944 100 laris (45.6 million dollars);
-promoting economic development – 4 164 400 lari ($1.2 million);
-development of owners ' partnerships – 39,157,300 lari (almost $ 12 million);
-the health and social care – 154 136 000 gel (47,2 million dollars);
-education – 175 094 000 lari (53,6 million dollars);
-culture, sports and youth Affairs – 47 355 800 million lari (14.5 million dollars);
-public order and safety – 4 402 300 lari ($1.3 million);
-representative and Executive bodies of the city of Tbilisi – 108,148,400 lari ($33.1 million).
Vice-mayor of Tbilisi Irakli Khmaladze believes that the draft budget meets all the challenges of next year.
"2021 is the year when negative economic impacts will be an important factor for budget revenues. Despite this, the budget is presented in the amount of 1.05 billion, which is very much. It meets the challenges that are critical for the city, " he said.
The budget was approved by the votes of 34 deputies of Sakrebulo. Some of the opposition did not take part in the meeting in protest.
