Emad Obed Khalaf of Yazidi origin currently living with his family in his village of Kani Aido (Sinjar), Emad owned a plumbing business that included repairing and replacing plumbing in homes in Kani Aido. Emad fondly recalls the joyous memories of his village, which were filled with wonderful family and friends.

After the genocide, after 6 years of returning to his beloved village of Kani Aido, Emad has reopened his plumbing business - his family and his brothers are helping him in this endeavor. In addition, Yazda and ASB have helped Emad expand his business by providing him with more tools and items that he can sell to customers.

"I want to heartily thank Yazda and ASB for their support, which has allowed my family and me to rebuild our business.»

Emad plans to expand his business and wants to hire local Yazidis to help his community - he says his extensive experience in plumbing will allow him to build a robust business model. Emad also says that the success of his business will encourage other members of the Yazidi community to return to their villages.

"I want not only all my relatives, friends and acquaintances to retur n to Sinjar, but also the entire Yazidi diaspora and the people in general, which I love so much. I am so happy that Yazda and ASB support the Yazidi people."
