A website has been launched in Georgia through which students from socially vulnerable families can apply for a program to cover arrears in higher education, the Ministry of internally displaced persons, labor, health and social protection said in a statement.

By the decision of the government of Georgia, social assistance under this program is provided to cover arrears for the spring semester of 2019-2020 and/or tuition fees for the fall semester of 2020-2021.

Students who are registered in the database of socially disadvantaged families and as of September 1, 2020, their rating score is less than 150 thousand, do not need to register on the portal.

Parents who are registered in the unified database of socially disadvantaged families and have less than 150 thousand points, and their student child is not listed as a family member, have the opportunity to register on the electronic portal.

During registration, the parent must provide their full name and ID card number, as well as their child's full name and passport details, and, if necessary, upload copies of their ID card and birth certificate.

Then the list of documents will be sent to the Ministry of education, which will carry out the appropriate procedures for approving funding. Registration on the electronic portal will be available until November 1.
